Tehran, Berlin sign MoU on joint water research

TEHRAN, Apr. 04 (MNA) – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Iran and Germany in the field of conducting joint research on water.

In time with International Trade Fair and Congress for Water and Wastewater in Berlin, Iran's Deputy Energy Minister Rahim Meidani, while visiting the exposition, recounted on capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran for foreign companies to participate in water projects, finance and investment.

The official believed that barriers to investment in various sectors of water industry had been removed in the post-sanction era and stressed that Energy Ministry of Iran would spare no effort to support credible German firms active in the industry.

During Meidani’s visit to Germany, a cooperation agreement for development of training and conduction joint research in water fields was inked between the two sides.

Furthermore, Tehran and Berlin pointed to high capacity of bilateral cooperation and discussed venues for facilitating and reinvigoration of relations while a number of decisions were also issued.

The Water in Berlin, Germany's specialized, international marketing platform for water, took place from Tuesday, 28. March to Friday, 31. March 2017.
